Had to post this gorgeous card by Elaine -- it's one of my favorite images and Elaine's the first one to try it! Also, on her blog Quixotic Cards, in the comments under this post I finally had the opportunity to explain a little about my process -- and why I think illustrations by artists for cards can be much more than just "digis." I must confess, my eyes keep going to the little poll on my sidebar and wishing I could say this to the (five) people who picked "I prefer rubber, thanks!"teehee! xoMo

Thanks for posting my card, Mo! And thank you again for your explanation of the process. It's always great to hear from the artist behind the fantastic images we use.
ReplyDeleteI have to smile every time I see this image, I love it, and it was a total pleasure to work with.

this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletehugs,
beautiful card. love the color scheme so pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly awesome I could just sit and stare at it for ages the colouring is so beautiful but it is your detailed stamps Mo that gives us the ability to create something quite different and gorgeous. I have just posted Harvest Dance on my blog.

What a beautiful card, such lovely colours and what a great image to feature. Its only 5 tho Mo and they just might not like pc's particularly?! Give me a fabulous piece of your art as a 'digi' any day of the week over a rubber stamp; it can be sized accordingly and there's no inky fingers, brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Keryn :D
A beautiful card and a beautiful illustration ! I love digi stamps, the fact you can resize the image is brilliant...cant do that with rubber of course...so glad i discovered your work today Mo...thank you for sharing your talent xx
ReplyDeleteWow! This is fantastic!

My problem with digi is the pencils and sansador I use to colour the images doesn't like my printer and smudges. But I adore the images you draw and have brought some because I couldn't resist especially the chap on the train.

This is gorgeous - but sold out on Etsy :(. Just come across you while blog hopping and LOVE your work, something different and fun.
ReplyDeleteReally interesting to read your comments about digi images, thanks. You need another line in your poll for "Actually, I like both digi AND rubber, having too much fun to settle for just one way of doing things!". Resize, flipping is brilliant, but sometimes so is embossing, brayering the image... Too limiting to be in one or the other camp :).
I just restocked! Etsy is a big pain!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Anne! Love rubber, but the flexibility of digital is pretty irresistible!
ReplyDeletePS Anne -- you're right! I hope everyone realizes there's a time and place for both types -- and even the two together. I'm putting up another blog where hopefully we all can discuss!
ReplyDeleteI saw this on Elaine's blog and loved it. Fabulous card and fabulous image Mo, I'm so glad that you let us cardmakers use them! Your illustrations are wonderful. Kim
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim (and you're welcome!!) I just linked to your beautiful blog :)
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE the colours you've chosen in this lovely card, it's fabulous!
ReplyDelete(sorry my spam buster sent your 'havest dance' straight out with the spam and I've lost it forever and all emails to you have come back un-delivered.
